FIELD TRIPS
- ALL TRIPS REQUIRE ADVANCE SIGN-UP with the FIELD TRIP LEADER.
- Additional information is available at our general meetings and in
   our monthly newsletter
- Proof of personal liability insurance is required for participants who are
   not members of a CFMS society.
- Adherence to AFMS Code of Ethics and guidance of field trip leader is mandatory.

    Description/Location
       
    This was our 2016 Field Trip Schedule. Our society will meet in January to plan the 2017 trips.
    All members are welcome to attend and let their ideas be heard. We hope that you will also lead a trip or more in the upcoming year.


    Feb 20:
    New Hogan Lake (Valley Springs, CA) for Dumortierite -- CANCELED DUE TO HIGH WATER

    Mar 26- Concow Reservoir (Feather River) for Rhodonite, Limonite, Jade and Quartz Crystals

    Mar 26: Smartsville, CA, for Yuba blue and Chinese writing rocks.

    Apr 1 - 5 - Owens Valley for copper related minerals, quartz & other crystals, amazonite, blue veryl, gold, great garden rocks, and more! (see members area for details)

    Apr 16: Paradise/Sawmill Peak, CA for limeinite and rhodonite. (we are invited by another society)

    Apr 16-17: Ernst Quarry, Bakersfield, CA, for fossilized shark teeth.  Fee trip.

    Apr 23: Nevada City, CA, for argillite.

    May 7:  East Side of Sierra Nevada for garnet and epidote crystals - Canceled due to weather

    May 7: Wellington, NV, for Nevada lapis & flourite crystals -  Canceled due to weather

    May 21 - 22: Mason Pass, NV, for turquoise and chrysocolla.

    May 28: Silver Springs/Tallapoosa Mt., NV, for blue chalcedony and purple and green fluorite.

    May 28 - 30: Fallon, NV. Various locations for quartz crystals, selenite, petrified wood, jasper-agate, agate, calcite. Joint Calaveras and El Dorado Society field trip.

    Jun 4: Monitor Pass - Colorado Hill/Zaca Mine, CA, for
    crystal vugs, banded rhyolite, colored drusy.

    Jun 11: Virgin Valley, NV, for opals, opalized and petrified wood. Fee dig.

    Jun 12: Spider Mine near Red Bluff, CA, for rhodonite.

    Jul 16-17: Monitor Pass and Morning Star Mine, CA, for quartz crystals in rhyolite.

    Jul 20 (Wed.): Gold Country Treasure Seekers have invited EDCM&G members to attend a field trip to Roaring Camp in Pine Grove. Fun trip for adult and junior members. Fee: $30. See Members Area for contact information.

    Oct 1 - 2: Tuledad, CA/NV Stateline near Cedarville, for Tuledad agate.
