 Meetings:

Our regular monthly General Membership Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the: 
         American Legion Hall, El Dorado Post 119,
         4561 Greenstone Rd,  Placerville, California
Located about 2.5 miles west of the town of El Dorado between Mother Lode Drive and Highway 50, Exit 41.   See Map 

Upcoming General Meeting & Presentation:   

Because of  the virus, we will not be able to hold our General Membership Meeting this month nor our other regular group activities at this time. 
We look forward to resuming regular schedules for meetings, classes, workshops, field trips, and, especially, being able to see you all again as soon as conditions change.
Note that the County Fair Board has rescheduled the Fair to be held  July 9 thru 12.
On a positive note, this will give us more time to get our cases ready to display our treasures at the Fair!

 Junior Rockhound Program:    CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE        

Junior Member Meetings are usually held from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of the month except during summer months.  We have presentations and activities during our meetings.  Sign-up is required.  Details are emailed to Junior Members.   More about our Junior & Other Educational Programs.  

 Lapidary Workshops  CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE          

Lapidary Workshops are held on the each Wednesday of the month, January thru November from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 937 Spring Street. Advance sign-up is required and a minimum number must be reached for each workshop. Please contact Lapidary Chairperson or sign up at the General Meetings    More about Lapidary

 Jewelry Arts:   CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE  

Jewelry Arts Classes arare usually scheduled on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m., in Diamtond Springs except for some holiday periods.

 Field Trips:  CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE 
Our members lead and participate in field trips usually in Northern California and Nevada. Trips are 'on hold' because of the current travel and group restrictions. We look forward to resuming our activities as soon as permitted.
Our 2020 Field Trip Schedule will be posted as soon as trips are again possible. (See 2019 list for examples)

Mining, Mineral & Jewelry Displays
Hosted by the El Dorado County Mineral and Gem Society

Our society hosts the Mining and Minerals building at the annual El Dorado County Fair.

Enjoy viewing 30 case displays including Rocks, Gems, Minerals, Handcrafted Jewelry, and Artifacts. You can also visit with our members and learn what our society and rockhounding is all about.

Note that Case Display Entries are open to all members and the public. There are both competitive and noncompetive choices within the age groups of Adult, Teen, and Youth.

Entry Deadline  (date tba).  We will post the new entry deadline and case set-up dates as soon as we can get the July dates from the Fairgrounds. Entry Rules will remain valid as previously posted.(See below for links.)

OCTOBER 17 & 18, 2020: 
ROCK, GEM & JEWELRY SHOW
Hosted by the El Dorado County Mineral and Gem Society

faceted gem This year's show theme is, "Treasures in the Rough." 
Dealers will bring many treasures for all to enjoy!
Lapidary and jewelry-making artisans will demonstrate how rocks, minerals and crystals can be transformed into other "Treasures." 
Enjoy viewing case displays and other exhibits.
faceted gem This annual event will feature about 50 dealers who will bring worldwide  minerals, jewelry, findings, fossils, petrified wood, gold, amber, opal, geodes, meteorites, spheres, lapidary supplies, tools, equipment, books, kits, and unique gifts.  Items will include slabs and other rough & finished material.

faceted gem This is a great event for experienced Rockhounds, Collectors, and those who want to Learn about Rockhounding.  Fun for the Whole Family!
