Meetings:

While the Mother Lode Lions Hall is undergoing reconstruction, our monthly General Membership Meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month instead of Tuesday.  Regular meetings begin at 7:00 pm. (For our upcoming Silent Auction, members are asked to bring items starting at 6:00 pm.)

Our temporary meeting location is the American Legion Hall, El Dorado Post 119, which is located at 4561 Greenstone Road (between Highway 50 and Motherlode Drive).

Our Annual Silent Auction!  You can help with this fundraiser by bringing some things to sell and, in return, you'll find some great bargains! (*Bring items starting at 6:00 pm)
Thur, May 15 , 7:00 pm Dick Hilton, Earth Sciences Professor at Sierra College, will be our guest speaker. He will make a presentation about dinosaurs in California.

Guests are always welcome to attend.

Junior Rockhound Program: Top of page
Junior Rockhound meetings are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of the month unless otherwise announced. The next meeting will be Thursday, April 10, 6:30 pm, at our 312 Main Street Classroom. Please let us know if you wish to attend so that we have enough activity supplies and refreshments on hand.   More about Junior Program & Education  
Lapidary & Jewelry Arts: Top of page
Regular Lapidary Workshops are usually held at the Senior Center, 937 Spring St,  6:30 - 9:00 PM, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and fifth Tuesday* when announced. Regular Lapidary Machine Work is open to everyone who has passed Lapidary Certification.
 
Jewelry Arts Classes are held at our the Wheeldon Center, 6:30 - 9:00 PM when  scheduled. Sign up is required for most of our classes so that adequate supplies and/or equipment can be made available.

On October 30, 2013, the society named this facility
"The Wheeldon Center" in recognition of George Wheeldon's
influence and continued education of earth sciences that he
provides to both the society members and community.
