Meetings:

Our monthly General Membership Meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month.  Regular meetings begin at 7:00 pm. 

We meet at the American Legion Hall, El Dorado Post 119, located at 4561 Greenstone Road (between Highway 50 and Mother Lode Drive).     Map to American Legion Hall

Upcoming General Meeting & Presentation:
Thur, Aug 21, 7:00 pm, American Legion Hall Jim Hutchings, member of the Roseville Rock Rollers, will  make a presentation about the adventures of collecting halite and other saline minerals during the Searles Lake Show.
Thur, Sep 18, 7:00 pm, American Legion Hall Professor George Wheeldon, will  present  "Mother Lode Mining: 1850 - 1900"
Also enjoy our annual "Pie Night!"
Guests are always welcome to attend!

Junior Rockhound Program: Top of page
Junior Rockhound meetings are usually held on the 2nd Thursday; however, we will take the summer month of August off. Regular Junior Meetings will resume on September 11. Please let us know if you wish to attend our meetings so that we have enough activity supplies and refreshments on hand.   More about Junior Program & Education  
Lapidary & Jewelry Arts: Top of page
Regular Lapidary Workshops are usually held at the Senior Center, 937 Spring St,  6:30 - 9:00 PM, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and fifth Tuesday* when announced. Regular Lapidary Machine Work is open to everyone who has passed Lapidary Certification.
 
Jewelry Arts Classes are usually held at our the Wheeldon Center, 6:30 - 9:00 PM; however, some are held at other locations. Sign up is required for classes unless otherwise noted. More about Lapidary & Jewelry Arts

*On October 30, 2013, the society named this facility
"The Wheeldon Center" in recognition of George Wheeldon's
influence and continued education of earth sciences that he
provides to both the society members and the community.
