 Meetings:

Our regular monthly General Membership Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the: 
         American Legion Hall, El Dorado Post 119,
         4561 Greenstone Rd,  Placerville, California
Located about 2.5 miles west of the town of El Dorado between Mother Lode Drive and Highway 50, Exit 41.   See Map

Upcoming General Meeting & Presentation:

GeodeOur next General Membership meeting will be held on Thursday, February 20, 7:00 p.m., at the American Legion Hall, 4561 Greenstone Road, Placerville.
The evening's presentation will be about Geodes by, member, Barbara Terrill.
Visitors are always welcome!
Note: 2020 Dues are due.  Please mail your Dues payment along with a completed  Membership Renewal form or simply bring both to our upcoming meeting.

 Junior Rockhound Program:                  

Junior Member Meetings are usually held from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of the month except during summer months.  We have presentations and activities during our meetings.  Sign-up is required.  More about our Junior & Other Educational Programs.

 Lapidary Arts:

Lapidary Workshops are held on the each Wednesday of the month,  January thru November from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 937 Spring Street. Advance sign-up is required and a minimum number must be reached for each workshop.

Jewelry Arts Classes are generally scheduled on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m., in Diamond Springs.  More about Jewelry Arts

JUNE 18-21, 2020:   EL DORADO COUNTY FAIR DISPLAYS
Our society hosts the Mining and Minerals Building at the
El Dorado County Fair each June. This is a great time for the whole family to see over 30 Minerals Displays. While enjoying the displays you can visit with our members and learn what our society is all about.
The Fairgrounds is located at 100 Placerville Dr., Placerville, CA 95667

Note: CASE DISPLAY ENTRY is open to the Public.  We will post the 2020 Entry rules as soon as available. (Entry rules are uually available about couple of months before the Fair)

OCTOBER 17 & 18 2020
: 
ANNUAL ROCK, GEM & JEWELRY SHOW

El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive, Placerville, CA 95667

This year's theme will be, "Treasures in the Rough."  Case displays will feature rough-to-finished items. Lapidary and jewelry-making demonstrations will show how treasures can be made.

Over 50 dealers will feature minerals, jewelry, findings, fossils, petrified wood, gold, meteorites, amber, opal, geodes, lapidary supplies, tools, equipment, books, kits, and unique gifts. Items will include slabs and other rough & finished material.

Free Rocks and Activities just for Kids! Food and refreshments available.

This is a great show for experienced rockhounds and fun for the whole family
